چکیده
YLLINE'(theophylline ethylenediamine) is one of the most useful drugs employed in the management of bronchial asthma . Its therapeutic effects are closely related to its blood level.' This should approximate from 5 to 9 mcg/ml in serum. Segal et al in 1949 demonstrated that a rectal solution of 0 .5 gm of aminophylline in 15 cc water yielded a significant degree of protection against histamine and methacholine induced bronchospasm in asthmatics, equal or superior to that produced by the intravenous injection . This protection occurred with theophylline blood levels of 500 ug/100 ml or more . 3 The present study was conducted to assess the blood levels obtained with a concentrated solution of aqueous aminophylline (60 mg per cc) -

Pharmacokinetic Evaluation of Two Doses of Aminophylline/Theophylline Administered as Multiple Intermittent Infusions to Iranian Apneic Premature Neonates
Many premature neonates suffer from apnea, and aminophylline is administrated for them. The objective of this study was to reveal pharmacokinetic (PK) parameters of theophylline in Iranian premature neonates. Premature neonates (68) who were admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Namazi, Hafez, and Zeinabieh Hospitals were included in the study. All of them received 5 mg/k...
متن کاملAn evaluation of mesotherapy solutions for inducing lipolysis and treating cellulite.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the lipolytic potential of solutions used in the practice of cosmetic mesotherapy to stimulate lipolysis, cause local fat reduction and reduce the appearance of cellulite. The mesotherapy solutions were tested in a human fat cell assay using the fold induction of glycerol generation as a measure of lipolysis. The following mesotherapy solutions were tested:...
متن کاملEffect of selected drugs used in asthma treatment on morphology and elastic properties of red blood cells
BACKGROUND The main function of red blood cells is to transport oxygen to all parts of the body with the help of hemoglobin. Other proteins of the cell membrane can attach xenobiotics (eg, drugs) from the blood and transport them throughout the body. Only drugs able to bind to the membrane of the red blood cell can modify its structure and elastic properties. The morphology and local elastic pr...

OBJECTIVE This study is to evaluate the effects of aminophylline on systemic inflammatory response after cardiopulmonary bypass in patients undergoing valve replacement. METHODS Thirty patients undergoing elective valve replacement were randomized to receive either aminophylline treatment (aminophylline, n = 15) or no aminophylline (control, n = 15). Administration of aminophylline (5 mg/kg) ...
متن کاملMethylxanthine induced cardiotoxicity and its mechanisms: An experimental study
Background: Methylxanthines like theophylline are re-emerging as effective adjuncts in the treatment of obstructive airway disease and several newer mechanisms have been proposed. In view of its effectiveness, pharmacoeconomic viability, and easy availability, it could rationalize the drug treatment in bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorders (COPD) – but its narrow therapeu...
